What do we do?
BLKCHN Records reinvents the definition of labels to "label as a service" to support musicians bringing their catalogs onto blockchain.
Automatization of rights
Optimization of Management
One simple overview
⇒ Our starting point is transparency for everyone ⇐
We stand for the values labels used to stand for and we do the work good labels used to do. Our aim is to make music available for consumers without putting a heavy burden on the artists' pocket. We promote and help the artist get their music distributed and heard by many.
The lack of transparency, trust and accountable data within recorded music rights management not only allows but promotes the absolute concentration of power in the hands if few. We are the change. Fair, transparent, career building, artist supporting, independent software solution for artists and record labels - this is what BLKCHN Records is.
The current music industry context
The publisher's job is to prove that the intellectual rights of a specific recorded (or performed) song are respected and the ownership is maintained for the collection of royalties.
- Administration of publishers is completely obsolete and inefficient. Databases between labels, DSP’S, streaming platforms, PROs, MROs, etc are lost in the exchange. They don't synch with each other when updated.
- Blockchain can automate these databases in a transparent, reliable and trusted way.
Blockchain as a tool of the future
Blockchain is a distributed ledger that can register and validate transactions without the need for a central authority, creating a trusted and transparent database.
It allows peer-to-peer exchanges of data, money or anything else of value in any amount and in a secure manner.
The infrastructure is based on smart contracts which allow artists to be directly compensated every time their songs are played and which allows for easier music management.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Blockchain technology empowers BLKCHN Records to tackle foremost problems plaguing the music industry with radical transparency, automation, equitable ownership rights management and enhanced artists funding mechanisms. Blockchain protocols implemented within the BLKCHN Records software ensure that all transactions are performed in an immutable, secure and trustful manner using self-executing smart contracts.
Additional revenue, Fair income per stream, Easy overview of all the plays and earnings, Time saving management of track uploads and distribution
Blockchain streaming platforms we work with include:
- Musicoin - 35 000 registered users
- Choon - 200 000 users
- Emanate - 450 000 users. Thanks to strategic partnership with Vampr, the user-base is growing at up to 1700 new users per day
- Soundeon - before token sale, max 1 billion of tokens to be issued
Our BLKCHN Records software is also able to provide music to any other traditional streaming platform but then, let’s not forget, without blockchain benefits.
Additionally and maybe most importantly, we plan on implementing internal additional tools and APIs with other services that will support the artist standing, brand and marketing.
Starting from mp3 players in 1998 and the transition to CD’s and then to a digital format started quite slowly. It was this early and passionate adoption that evolved into online music streaming platforms like Spotify or SoundCloud and completely took over.
Using blockchains for rights management, royalty processing and more is the only natural transition towards a more advanced and fair system in the world of music industry.
The process might be similar to the transition from bulky and chunky devices with short battery lives, such as mp3 players, to on-demand music streaming platforms.
The first group of people to jump on blockchain are independent artists who are tired of the meager payouts they receive from streaming platforms. They see blockchain as a solution for better tracking and transparency of their music when few others believe in it, yet.
BLKCHN Records is on a mission to make the world of music an easier and more transparent place to work in for any artists.
The nature of cryptocurrencies makes it so that they depend on market volatility. However the value of current streaming platforms is so low (e.g. Spotify streams are between 0.006 and 0.008 euro/cent*) that even if the market of a coin would drop, it’s surely going to stay above the value of any major streaming platform. The value of a blockchain platform (e.g. Choon) is, by speculative numbers, supposed to be at 0.05 euro/cent per stream.
